The content covered is basically the same. Here are the changes.

-Refined script. 2 minutes shorter.
-Larger screen size.
-Closed captioning.
-Match up newer version and website setup.
-Added a vision and framework demo in the background while talking about troubleshooting. Before there was just an unmoving screen while I droned on, at certain points.

New Tutorial: Macros Part 1, Functions

This tutorial is the first in a Beyond the Basics short series on macros. It introduces how functions are used and shows a few basic, but useful functions in action. Functions are how you will get the most out of you macros, so if you want to create your own macros you need to get comfortable using functions.

For those of you who have been waiting for the 2nd part of Vision and Light, the UI is under going a change in the next build or two. So, that one is on hold until the interface is concrete.

The Introduction to Macros tutorial is introducing a new feature that will be included in all future tutorials. Closed Captioning. The point of this is to make it possible to translate the video tutorials into as many languages as possible. I have started contacting those I am hoping can help with this new aspect, but anyone who wants to volunteer their translating services is encouraged to contact me.

Introduction to Macros Tutorial

This tutorial has been added to the Step by Step series. Combined with the Chat Window and Die Roller tutorial, it is designed to help get those of you with absolutely no coding experience started with MapTool macros. This means that for many of you it will be totally useless. But, for those of you that get scared just thinking of something called a “Macro Language”, I hope it helps open the door to automating your games.

Future tutorials will delve into some of the more advanced and most used aspects of the Macro Language.
